Are you a fan of alternative rock with a 90s vibe, a dash of attitude, and a nod to wrestling culture? Look no further than Velour Fog and their electrifying new track, Glue.
Velour Fog – Glue
Originating from the outskirts of London, Velour Fog is a powerhouse quartet dedicated to preserving the raw intensity of rock music, staying true to the essence of this iconic genre. Drawing inspiration from legendary acts of the 80s and 90s, their musical influences include renowned bands such as Ratt, Guns N Roses, Van Halen, Primus, Alice In Chains, and Yngwie Malmsteen, among others.
The year 2023 marked a turning point for Velour Fog, as they unveiled their inaugural tracks, Black Babylon and Dopehead. The latter quickly emerged as their standout track, amassing an impressive 150,000 streams since its release in October, showcasing the band’s growing appeal.
Described with precision as “hitting harder than a steel chair shot,” Velour Fog’s third single, Glue, not only lives up to this characterization but also serves as a nostalgic journey back to the golden era of grunge.
With thunderous drums and slow-paced riffs, Velour Fog taps into their inner Alice In Chains in this piece, capturing the essence of grunge not only through their musical style but also through lead singer Jake’s evocative vocals, reminiscent of the iconic Layne Staley. However, just when you think you’ve pegged it as a standard grunge-inspired track, Glue takes an unexpected turn halfway through, seamlessly integrating rap verses in a distinctly Nu Metal fashion, culminating in a captivating guitar solo towards the end.
“Glue offers a perfect blend of familiarity and originality.”
