Get ready to be hit with a wave of nostalgia, as we explore Valere’s latest track ‘Stuck In My Head.’
Valere – Stuck In My Head
Drawing heavily on the sounds and vibes of the early 2000s, this modern-day tune is the perfect throwback to the era that gave us some of the catchiest tunes in music history.
Valere, the wanderlust Ōtautahi singer-songwriter who has graced stages across the globe, is back with a captivating new single. Her eagerly-awaited second track ‘Stuck In My Head’ is sure to leave an indelible mark on her listeners.
As an APRA Songhubs Sphere alum and International Songwriting Competition semi-finalist, Valere is no stranger to success in the music industry. Her music was dubbed as “kinetic, yet warmly intimate” by NZ Musician Magazine. Valere’s premier album ‘colours’ successfully made impact, securing a spot on music publications and radio stations alike.
When you press play on Valere’s ‘Stuck In My Head,’ it’s like you’re popping in a classic CD and blasting it from your trusty portable player. You can almost imagine it sitting next to your old Hilary Duff, Ashlee Simpson, Michelle Branch albums, and all those early 2000s icons. The boom-bap beats and rich bass immediately hook you in. And when the chorus hits, all those waves of rhythm and sound come crashing in, perfectly capturing the warm, fuzzy feeling of that bygone era.
This tune is more than just a trip down memory lane, it’s got something extra special too. Valere poured her heart and soul into this track, creating an “ode to long-distance AND going the distance” kind of love. She joined forces with Luigi Balazo of The Sundown and Sepia Times, as well as mixing and mastering expert Michael Collier of Leone, to create this gem in a music industry that’s constantly evolving. And they nailed it, no doubt about it.
“Stuck In My Head is a symphony of nostalgia and emotion that will leave you humming its melody, long after the music stops.”
Accompanying this exquisitely crafted track is a music video conjured by Valere and her filmmaker husband, showcasing the scenic splendour and liveliness of her native hometown in Cebu, Philippines. Be sure to give it a watch, along with exploring the rest of Valere’s musical repertoire, as she’s all geared up to embark on an exciting array of projects with Enemy Love Records in 2023.
