The Saturn Farmhouse, an Oxford-based four-piece, have recently released their debut single ‘The Most Beautiful Planet’.
The track features an old school feel, it is a nostalgic soft rock ballad. Clearly the phrase ‘simplicity is key’ is one that the band kept in mind when writing ‘The Most Beautiful Planet’. The austerity of the single makes it have a delicately calming nature. It is certainly catchy, but not in a tacky way by any mean, the chorus is gracefully memorable.
The lyricism incontestably paints a picture and tells a story. Andy Jones’ lead vocals are sedating, with a strong resemblance to the tone of David Bowie. In relation to the lyrics, the band notes that “the song is about how sometimes the smallest and most ordinary moments can feel the most revolutionary”. This is such an uncomplicated message but is also one that certainly holds great weight.
The Saturn Farmhouse are a group that are a must to listen to. It is hard to dislike such a beautifully written piece of art.
