‘We Meet In Dreams’ is the new single from The Microdance released digitally through Boxing Clever Records on April 15th. This is second glimpse of the début forthcoming album ‘New Waves of Hope’ following the excellent first single ‘Making Plans For The End.’ The album is expected to see a multi-format release in late May.
‘We Meet in Dreams’ was chosen as the opening track of the sprawling, sonically rich ‘New Waves of Hope’ thanks to its brightness and immediacy. The propulsive chords, shoegazy vocals and delicate arpeggios of the verse give way to a huge, anthemic chorus; the song closes with an urgent, climactic outro. Hooks and earworms are prevalent throughout. In the words of guitarist Gavin MataHari, ‘It’s a great poppy rock song with just enoughwonkiness to keep interesting’. Frontman Alexkeevill describes it as ‘A serious song with a maudlin head and a disco heart.’ We wouldn’t disagree, and are starting to think TheMicrodance are incapable of producing a bad record. We can’t wait for the album.Microdance will be launching the single at The Victoria in Dalston on the fifteenth of April. They will be joined by Los Angeles shoegazers Light FM and South London’s Violetic.
