Stone Cold Grace – Late to the Party
Step forward Philadelphia based singer-songwriter Sara Johnson aka Stone Cold Grace, to tackle the Aries (March 20 to April 21) slot.
Admittedly before starting this review I knew little about Aries or star signs generally. But writing a blog gives you the perfect excuse to stop, listen, read and study things with just a little more detail than you would do in daily life.
Understanding the Aries personality
After a little digging, this is what I now understand to be the key Aries personality traits.
Aries are independent, spontaneous and courageous. They have a sense of adventure and love to explore. They’re determined and bold and are good at initiating new projects.
But they sometimes enjoy demanding attention too. They do so in order to feel like they belong. If you’re dating an Aries, you need to remind them that it’s not just about them!
Aries live by an “every person for themselves” philosophy. While this self-determination can be inspiring, it can often result in selfish tendencies.
This sign is ruled by Mars, the dynamic red planet named after the Roman god of war. Accordingly, these courageous rams are always armed and ready for battle. Aries is known for an explosive temper, and although their outbursts don’t last long, it’s definitely best to avoid fiery rams until the steam has dissipated.

“Late To The Party” by Stone Cold Grace is a homage to anyone who has ever been made to feel like they are hard to love. Written shortly after graduating college last spring, it chronicles the events of a party that is missing some key characters and involves a falling out with a romantic partner.
The lyrics provide a near fly on the wall snapshot of a moment in time.

I’ve got a headache coming on
The joy of this track is its attention to detail. It perfectly captures the honesty, passion and vulnerability that is intrinsically rooted in the core of the fire sign. Finding poetic beauty in everyday banality is a skill. Stone Cold Grace has achieved something that many musicians only dream of, she holds the attention of her listeners and invites them to want to know more. It worked on me, I’ve spent most of the morning listening to her other releases on Spotify and you should too. Start with her 2021 EP release Phantom Reciprocity.
