Readers of this blog will know, we’ve raved about Slyrydes before on RCM, and guess what… we’re about to do so again. The band from Galway City, Co Galway, Ireland make music exciting. It’s visceral, intense, and passionate, everything great music should be.
The story so far… The band have released five singles between March 2019 and March 2020 (Mental Health, Point of View, Out Patience, Dangerous Animals, I Claim To Be Intelligent) gathering critical acclaim and support along the way in Ireland (Paul Mcloone – Today FM/The Undertones) and beyond.
Despite the challenging circumstances we’ve all faced in the last 18 months Slyrydes have now written and recorded their debut album ‘What Happens If You Get Happy’. The album was recorded at Daniel Doherty’s Darklands Studios in Dublin (Fontaines D.C., Munky, Damien Dempsey, Vulpynes) and is due for release at some point very soon.
In the meantime, vinyl collectors everywhere should be rubbing their hands together for the chance to get their hands on this limited edition, double a-side vinyl containing the last single released to Spotify ‘Boy in the Debs Suit’ and last year’s ‘blistering banger’ ‘I Claim To Be Intelligent’.
