Sara De Sanctis explores the darkest caves of the human mind with her latest release ‘Fading’.
Sara De Sanctis – Fading
An Italian-born and London-based classically trained pianist and vocalist, Sara saw last month the release of the excellent single ‘Fading’, produced by Jacob Bright and mastered by Shawn Joseph (New Order, PJ Harvey and Portishead). The track precedes the release of her new EP and marks the advance of a new stage in her career, which began when she released her debut single ‘Serendipity’ in 2021.
A deeply atmospheric track, ‘Fading’ paints a gloomy yet compelling tapestry of sound and focuses on the feelings of despair and obsession of someone that loses his identity over time. Sara’s haunting piano playing and the track’s electronica-flavoured groundwork greatly compliment her expressive voice as she unleashes her lament. ‘Fading’ is definitely the type of track that perfectly complements nocturnal, introspective moments if one is willing to dwell on them. It is also possible to perceive the influence of artists such as Björk, Thom Yorke, Diana Krall and Agnes Obel, although the number retains Sara’s very own touch of originality. The track is also accompanied by a stunning music video.
Fading is a haunting tale of obsession and despair, brought to life by an exquisite execution.
Sara De Sanctis began playing the piano at the age of 5. During her journey, she also studied film scoring and conducting, being influenced by the works of Hans Zimmer and Ennio Morricone. However, Sara understood that it would be more fruitful for her to compose and perform her own songs rather than just playing other people’s compositions. Driven by this creative impetus, she has increasingly established herself as a multifaceted performer, demonstrating a solid creative sensibility by combining elements of pop with classical music. Be sure to follow this talented and enigmatic singer and stay tuned for the release of her new EP.
