Ready to share a good dose of Indie Rock like only they know, four-piece Poison Oak has shared the song Found Myself, a vibrant track full of Alternative brilliance and the first official single of their upcoming debut album.
Poison Oak – Found Myself
Hailing from North Queensland City, Townsville, this group consists of James Balthes, Ray Pearson, Chris Reiterer, and Adrian Tarca, together they have balanced the unbridled energy of Punk with the versatility of Alternative Rock, resulting in an addictive sound brimming with good vibes.
This quartet have released three EPs since 2019, all of which were received positively, amassing great reviews and coverage from Vents Magazine, Scenstr, Hysteria, and Happymag, among others.
But not only that, all over 2021 and 2022, this outfit took their talent to the road, headlining the Townsville Music & Performing Arts Space at the Herbert Hotel, as well as playing at Otherwise Bar’s Groovin the Moo Freshly Squeezed.
And after all these accomplishments, it was only logical to aim for their debut LP, a work they have been working on since July of last year. Straight out of that record comes their newest offering called Found Myself.
This particular composition excels thanks to its remarkable instrumentation, composed of tight drums and colourful riffs, which work as the perfect accompaniment for the endearing lyrics, reaching its peak at the catchy and hard-to-forget chorus.
The creative process behind this banger evidences the well-oiled machine that this band is, demonstrating that they don’t lack in the efficiency department:
“The song came together so fast from just a jam we were having when rehearsing. Ray had this chord progression that he was messing around with, then I came up with the main riff. Then we had the lyrics and melody literally five minutes later.” -said the band about this release.
“Found Myself is an energetic earworm with enough strong points to make it an unforgettable auditive experience.”
With this level of musicianship, Poison Oak has developed a style that feels like theirs completely. With every release, they have shown signs of maturing artistically, making us even more eager to hear what the LP will sound like.
