Rebellious five-piece PAVÉ packs a punch with their new single ‘TilI Die’.
PAVÉ – Till I Die by
Having rocked their debut days before hitting the national lockdown, PAVÉ took the time to refine their sound, and this paid off brilliantly. The five-piece have since sold out a debut headline show, wowed audiences through numerous gigs, and landed support from BBC Introducing, Planet Rock, and more. ‘Till I Die’ will no doubt keep the spotlight on them.
‘Till I Die’ opens rocking a tidy riff combined with fiery vocals and angsty passionate lyrics. The chorus simply bursts to life with explosive and punchy energy. It is definitely one to get heads banging especially when combined with the fierce vocals of the lead singer, Alanya Simms, but the rest of the band certainly have their part to play in delivering this intense spark.
Alanya says the track “followed after a drunken argument birthed through the frustration of not feeling as though my point of argument was being heard and the other party was instead choosing to not fight for what I was standing for.” You can definitely get the sense of aggravation through the emotional lyrics and tone, and the heavy sound in the chorus.
“Through a weighty chorus and striking vocals, ‘Till I Die’ proves that PAVÉ mean business.”
Midway through, ‘Till I Die’ switches up the pace with a stripped-back, dynamic instrument-driven section which works nicely to break up the track and showcase the rest of the band before diving back into a final powerful chorus.
The heavier and grittier sound of the chorus particularly brings to mind influences such as Halestorm, New Year’s Day and Nothing But Thieves, so ‘Till I Die’ is a banger if you are a fan of these modern heavyweights!
Alanya explains that “the word ‘pavé’ defines rebellion, freedom and the right to fight for what you believe in”, and you definitely feel the mission echo through the lyrics, vocals and vivid sound. PAVÉ are an upcoming force to be reckoned with as shown with ‘Till I Die’, a catchy, atmospheric and emotionally-charged track.
