Introducing MICCOLI
British / Italian, sibling, three-piece MICCOLI are twin brothers Adriano (vocal and acoustic/electric guitar), Alessio (piano, vocal, and acoustic guitar) and their younger sister Francesca (vocal, piano and harmonica).
Together MICCOLI write anthemic heartfelt songs and produce the kind of breathtaking harmonies that can only be from siblings. The band have spent the past few years touring extensively across the UK, US and Asia. This focus on live recently paid off, when the independently released trio beat out major competition and were invited to join the final Boyzone ‘Thank You & Goodnight’ (25 date) arena tour, which starts later this month.
LEDGE – The new single from MICCOLI
‘LEDGE’ is taken from MICCOLI’s debut album “Arrhythmia” which is set for release on January 18th. The album was written, recorded and produced solely by the three siblings on a quiet island off the coast of Penang, Malaysia.
The conceptual music video conveys the message of enduring personal hardship and the fear of facing it alone. The decision to shoot the video in the vast emptiness and hugely unforgiving backdrop of Death Valley makes this message even more poignant.
Making the music video & near death experiences
While filming MICCOLI had their own near-death experience on the sands of Mesquite. The band explain…
“Shooting began at 4 am on a July morning, just before sunrise when the temperature was at its lowest, 30 degrees. A small 3-hour window existed to film all necessary sand dune shots before the temperature became unbearable.
The largest sand dune was half a mile away from base camp meaning a one-mile round trip walking across sand dunes carrying a MDF door and frame. The sun was still rising by the end of the 3rd take. It had reached a staggering 52 degrees and yes it was still only early morning. Some of the equipment we were using started to turn itself off and phones were alerting that they were reaching their highest temperature levels and were shutting down.
So the race was on to get back to base and it wasn’t just the equipment the heat took its toll on. Adriano actually collapsed carrying part of the Miccoli set! Little did we know at the time that there were weather alerts to stay indoors and not to travel. The heat wave carried on for another 4 consecutive days as Death Valley set the record for the hottest month at a single location in U.S. history and we were right in the thick of it, but we still got our shots.”
