Lyra returns with Medusa a song that explores the theme of living in the moment and shines a light on the rebellious nature of human psychology.
Introducing Lyra
Since their formation in 2016, Lyra have performed at some of London’s most iconic music venues including The Bedford, The Spice of Life, Paper Dress Vintage and Camden Assembly, shared the stage with Scouting For Girls and Sophie Ellis Bextor and gained Track of The Week support from BBC Introducing for ‘S.T.A.Y’ and “All The Same”.
Some readers may also remember their standout performance from our Takeover Online Festival for Nordoff Robbins during lockdown.
Lyra – Medusa
One aspect that makes Lyra stand out among their contemporaries is the deep lyrical content in their songs, and in the case of their new offering, Medusa, this is no exception.
Powered by an alluring electronic intro and goosebump-inducing vocals, Medusa starts with a subtle melody, taking its time and building towards an irresistible bop. Complemented by the catchy guitar and lively drums, this piece reaches its full potential during an anthemic chorus that will brighten your day.
“Beautifully contrasting, Medusa is a playful take on human nature.”
The single depicts the subject of living in the moment in a more raw and profound way and what happens when you listen to that little voice inside your head, even if that brings you trouble.
“I slept with my demons, they never called me back. Made love with my ego, it wasn’t made to last.”
