Representing Yorkshire, the outstanding duo known as Kimber is a living example of what can be achieved through hard work, determination, and grit. Their vast experience is reflected in the meticulous effort put into their newest offering, Drive Me To The Sea.

Before the creation of this band, long-time friends Mikey Wilson and Josh Heffernan honed their skills working with many different projects until they found in Kimber the ideal canvas to showcase their ever-evolving talent.
Despite how beautiful it is as a song, Drive Me To The Sea was conceived under not-so-happy circumstances, as the group elaborates in more detail:
“Looking back, ‘Drive Me To The Sea’ was my therapy. I wrote the lyrics in an East London hospital in 2019 during a chaotic time of my life. Initially, it was just an account of my thoughts in an attempt to make sense of what was going on. It was a direct stream of consciousness. But after nearly a year of adjusting to the event, I came back to what I’d written and formed the lyrics to ‘Drive Me To The Sea’. Writing throughout that time probably saved me from being someone I didn’t want to be“.
In Drive Me To The Sea, the soothing and playful synths are warm and carry the piece throughout most of its duration, with the tranquillizing vocals conveying a sentiment of solace. All this contrasts with a highly infectious beat that will make you get up from your seat and dance to its contagious rhythm.
Drive Me To The Sea finds an odd but surprisingly pleasant balance between its catchiness and solemn production.
This new track has already proved to be an excellent addition to Kimber’s colourful music catalogue, amassing over 1000 streams in less than two weeks. With this level of quality, this group’s popularity will only increase, making them an act to watch out for in the coming months.
