INTICA’S sultry RnB tune tells a story of uncontrollable love and desire.
INTICA – Temporary Love
A smooth, cottony voice like INTICA’s is the best vehicle for sexy, slightly provocative lyrics. As the Californian songstress relays her love affair in her new single Temporary Love, it is nigh impossible to not get carried away by both her lighter-than-air performance and the sultry soundscape.
An arpeggiated synth melody introduces the track, right before piano chords join in to bolster the sound, aided by an electro-RnB beat that adds some urban flavour. The song tells the story of one of those ardent love affairs that sweep away all good judgement and just beg to be lived as intensely and recklessly as your mind can conceive. INTICA’s voice soars as she vividly lays out every moment, sometimes in fairly graphic detail, with images of “f*cking while high”, “drinking on a Monday”, “laying on the kitchen floor”, enjoying “lips on my skin” side by side with tamer emotional moments of holding hands while watching the sky on the rooftop.
INTICA largely based the track upon a real-life relationship that has left its mark on her life. A number of specific detailed scenes come directly from it, such as staying up late eating ice cream. No surprise, given how authentic her delight sounds in every word. The tone of reckless abandon is also lifted from the experience. “I knew this person could break me and I knew it would probably happen, but I just didn’t care”, she recalls.
INTICA was born in Taos, New Mexico, but is currently based in Santa Cruz, California and has seen music as her vocation since her childhood years. She promises new single releases in July and September. A full EP named “Afraid Of The Dark” is due later this year.
“The arpeggiated melody does a fantastic job of creating an enthralling atmosphere, but it’s INTICA’s sultry voice that makes the song come alive as a luscious RnB jam about a torrid love affair”.
