Rising R&B singer and songwriter Immi Dash has released her official debut, Show Me, a song with a fresh spin on the genre that also works as a solid introduction for this style-bending performer.
Immi Dash – Show Me
With a background as eclectic as her music, 21-year-old Immi Dash was born in Scotland, raised in America, and currently resides between the artistic community of Stroud and Liverpool, growing up under this unique set of circumstances could explain her particular vision when it comes to making music.
Despite her young age, Immi has demonstrated to be a promising talent in the independent scene. She has already been part of renowned festivals and events such as the Jazz Stroud Festival, Boomtown, WOMAD, and Liverpool’s Future Yard, among others.
In Show Me, Immi displays her songwriting skills, bringing her A game for what it is a cohesive work, tackling a scenario that more than one person has experienced before:
“Show Me is about asking someone to really reveal and show how they’re feeling. I’ve found that if it’s the right person, you shouldn’t even have to question it. You know what they say, “if he wanted to, he would”. So the message is, if they’re not being straight up with you, they can politely move along. Got no time for games…“
Atmospheric beats embellish the emotional delivery in Immi’s voice, fitting incredibly well with the back vocals, this mixture flourishes into a catchy and smooth jam that can be described accurately as three and a half minutes of mesmerizing pleasure for the ears.
Show Me is a refreshing take on a highly beloved genre, pouring with authenticity and heartfelt lyricism.
While this might be an R&B melody, it certainly extends beyond the already known structures and patterns to craft a phenomenal piece that owes nothing to the big established acts. With this track, Immi Dash has let the world know that she is just getting started.
