Not long after the positive reception from her last single, Broke, London-based Harri Pick has decided to keep her momentum going with her new offering, Frustrated, which is a worthy follow-up and another display of this Londoner’s varied musical arsenal.
Harri Pick – Frustrated
Originally from Somerset but residing in London, Harri Pick’s art has influence from both places, depicting the chaotic and agitated vibes of a big, diverse city through her singular artistic input. Besides that, her honest and straight-to-the-point songwriting gives her a unique appeal and likability.
In Frustrated, Harri demonstrates how much she has grown since her debut, and if there is something that she doesn’t lack, that is attitude. Her delivery is defiant and visceral, with lyrics that pour assertiveness, keeping you engaged with every word she says. Furthermore, the rhythmic patterns and distorted guitar make for an impossible-to-resist foot-tapping tune.
As always, Harri is not afraid to speak her mind when it comes to social issues, like the one that inspired this track, as she explains:
“Over the last few years, my generation has been constantly scrutinised by the media and politicians regarding people like me as ‘snowflakes’. I find it quite frustrating (haha) when I see this. In the end, though, you have to laugh at the hypocrisy of it all. They will be the first ones to complain about something.”
“Frustrated is an irresistible indie rock melody, self-aware, and tremendously enjoyable.”
It is easy to see why Harri was championed by BBC South West’s Sarah Gosling, and also why she has opened for several acts at sold-out shows all over London. With the impending release of her upcoming EP Dangerous Nostalgia, things couldn’t look better for her.
