Introducing Grizzly Bird
Grizzly Bird are a Berlin based Indie-folk-rock trio, comprised of vocalist and guitarist Hans Gnendinger, drummer Florian Dietrich, and Nils Wenzel on bass. Hans, born near the forests and foothills of the southern German Alps, has always felt a close connection to nature and myth, and whilst it was on the streets and stages of Berlin that he sharpened his talents as a multilingual songsmith, guitarist and performer, rural influences can still he heard in his, and the band’s, artistic work.
Grizzly Bird formed in 2017, and soon began recording their debut album Empathy, with its tracks focusing on universal and philosophical topics. Whilst the covid pandemic brought a sudden halt to the band’s work in 2020, by May they had released their track Balconies, one of four songs to be included on their new EP Somewhere Between.
Grizzly Bird The Drummer’s Trauma
The first official single on the EP, and Grizzly Bird’s latest release, is The Drummer’s Trauma; a captivating, playful and easy going track, accompanied by a brilliant and hilarious music video created by Nick Scholey. The lyrics are beautiful and understated, and Han’s lyrical voice carries the listener effortlessly through the track as it humbly explores the state of society and of the world. The Drummer’s Trauma perfectly balances the inclusion of important topics with an atmosphere of escape that will leave you grinning from ear to ear.
