Emerging out of the always colourful New York independent music scene, Glitter Etiquette has revealed their second official single A Portrait of Arachne, a track that brims with virtuosity and engaging musical passages.
Glitter Etiquette – A Portrait of Arachne
Drawing inspiration from legends and icons such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Blur, My Bloody Valentine, and The Psychedelic Furs, this New Yorker quartet is rapidly gaining notoriety due to their fascinating take on varied music genres and astonishing live performances.
Their song A Portrait of Arachne is a consistent work, magnified by its mind-blowing instrumentation. Distorted psychedelic guitars take us on a mesmerizing trip filled with frenetic riffs, lively drums, and an over-the-top vocal delivery, exhibiting a plethora of influences that encompass (but it’s not limited to) Noise Rock and Psychedelic Rock.
“We originally had the music from an old song I had from a previous band and Arie started reworking it and wrote new lyrics and vocal melodies, I also made some arrangement changes and we really liked how it turned out in the demos so we decided to go ahead and record it properly at 6/8 Studios in the lower east side with Barnes as engineer. We are really happy with the result and can’t wait to share it!” said the band about the creative process behind this song.
A Portrait of Arachne is a rush of frantic aural madness, meticulously executed thanks to its stunning musicianship.
With just two singles on their record, Glitter Etiquette is already giving a lot to talk about, and with more music in the oven and plenty of live shows on the horizon, it’s safe to say that nothing will stop this group from reaching new heights.
