UK five-piece Gathering of Strangers have shared their latest release Red and Gold, a vibrant musical piece filled with Indie-rock goodness and an encouraging message.
Gathering of Strangers – Red and Gold
After the lockdowns, Gathering of Strangers went on a roll of meaningful accomplishments, their singles Naked and Blind, and Cherry Red have generated a decent amount of streams on Spotify, along with the track Antidote receiving airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music, Kerrang Radio and XS Manchester. They have also performed at important venues such as Manchester’s O2 Ritz and London’s Shepherds Bush Empire.
Sonically pleasant and emotionally uplifting, Red and Gold is a feel-good tune that evokes the treasured freedom lost during the pandemic.
Since the first chord strikes, you can immediately feel the euphoric bliss that this indie rock banger transmits with its emphatically contagious chorus and addictive rhythm section.
As far as the inspiration for this melody goes, frontman and lead singer Conor Rabone wanted to share the sublime feeling of a sunset, as he explains in more detail:
“My absolute favourite time of the day is just after sunset, and you have about five minutes when the sun has disappeared, but it has turned the whole sky a golden red. I wanted to capture my feelings during those 5 minutes and put it in a song“
Red and Gold is a much-needed dose of positivity in a world still recovering from the scars left by the chaos of the last years. Gathering of Strangers has made another cheerful anthem that hopefully will bring some optimism to your life.
