Forgotten Garden Unveil The Captivating ‘Memoriam’

Since 2019 Forgotten Garden has awed fans with their fantastic merge of Post-Punk and Darkwave, creating music that hits the soul with its themes of unfiltered anguish.

Forgotten Garden – Memoriam

Their new single Memoriam is an excellent example of this, a tune as beautiful as it is tragic, portraying one of the most heartbreaking scenarios for any person.

Consisting of Danny Elliott and Ines Rebelo, Forgotten Garden is a duo with occasional guests, recognized for their mournful lyrics and subjects that reflect the bittersweet side of life. This project has found a perfect balance with Ines providing the vocals and Danny playing most of the instruments.

After the 2021 EP Broken Pieces, this group has released some consistent and well-rounded singles like Snowflakes, Jessica, and Christmas Time, all of which share the distinction of having thousands of streams on Spotify, something destined to repeat itself with their newest creation Memoriam.

This composition talks about a situation that unfortunately became very frequent during the pandemic, which is the painful experience of those who were unable to comfort a loved one at their passing.

It is very contrasting to hear a melody that it’s so heart-wrenching and yet so gorgeously orchestrated, the poignancy in the lyrics doesn’t overshadow the graceful instrumentation. Ines’s voice can go from being very calm and soothing to just haunting, interchanging between these moods splendidly. All this complements the chiming guitar and the rhythmic bass line, evoking hypnotizing distress.

Memoriam is a musical piece that encapsulates sadness in a captivating way, taking advantage of its stellar performance and songwriting.

This talented pair has crafted a subtle work of art that deals with the fragility of human nature, drawing you into an intimate space of vulnerability and realness, making us eager to hear what comes next for this outfit.
