Alice & The Lovers were formed on Valentine’s Day 2013 and is the side project of Swindon born singer / songwriter Alice Offley. The female 4-piece play garage rock with dirty ‘girl’tars and beautiful ‘harmonayys.’ it’s dark, romantic and full of girl sass.
All tracks are self-produced in Alice’s bedroom with a desire to make her Mac sound more like an old jukebox. It’s worked! The debut three track ‘Valentine EP’ was released last year, you can listen here.
Title track Valentine tells of lingering lost love, it’s percussive stomps and shimmies are combined with four-part girl harmonies to produce something utterly compelling. The black & white styling and audio samples help transport you back to a time when Phil Spector pulled the strings for girl groups like The Ronettes and The Crystals. Are you in love yet?
