This week’s First Signs of Love is ‘Demons’ the début single from Robert J Hunter. Since his music first entered our consciousness we’ve been somewhat obsessed. Last week we played his demo track ‘Hurricane’ on Lost On Radio, and the response was overwhelming. Officially released today ‘Demons’ is currently sitting at number one on the iTunes Blues chart in the UK, and we have the exclusive first play.
Demons heralds the arrival of Robert J Hunter in some style. Part Neil Young grunge, part Jack White dirty-blues, his rasping, raw vocals are backed and complimented by soft female tones. Demons starts like a run-a-away train and never stops, building to a thrilling crescendo. Hunter gives everything, at times it feels like he is in danger of shredding his vocals, as he delivers a vein bursting performance, it’s simply breathtaking.
This is the lead single from his début album which is set for release on February 10th, 2015. Heavily influenced by Howling Wolf, Tom Waits and Jimi Hendrix to name a few, RJH is no stranger to the stage. Performing in bands since he was 14, he is now signed to Spectra Music Group and is planning his first tour.
Remember his name. Robert J Hunter has arrived.
