Introducing Ellur
Ellur is Ella McNamara a classically trained singer and pianist from Halifax, West Yorkshire. She has been releasing music for the last four years, quietly accumulating a slew of high-quality singles that ‘water-falled’ [A Spotify release strategy] their way to the Moments EP in 2021 and the Now I’m Alone EP in 2022. Both are excellent and deserve your ears.
2024 began with the release of the poignant Satellites an ode to loss and separation. This was followed by the hugely anthemic ‘Boys’ and ‘Your Dog’ which is now paired with the latest release ‘God Help Me Now’ which suggests the release of her third EP is just around the corner. Ellur is a highly adept songwriter who has a profound ability to capture the trials and tribulations of love and life and turn them into hugely relatable anthems.
‘God Help Me Now’ is Ellur’s coming-of-age moment. This single has the potential to be everything. The lyrics cut through the noise to deliver a heady shot in the arm. It seamlessly bottles despair and frustration while still managing to overflow with youthful determination and resilience. For a generation exhausted by content and riddled with anxiety, God Help Me Know is an anthemic battle cry.
“I think too much, I’m all out of fucks.”
If this song doesn’t speak to you, you’re probably dead. Share it with someone important and tell them to listen on repeat. Ellur’s star is rising.
