The inevitable disintegration of a previous band gave birth to a new force in Manchester’s indie landscape. Echo Beach is here to enthral audiences with their singular take on indie rock, starting with the appropriately named track Just The Start.
Echo Beach – Just The Start
Formed in Leeds two years ago, this project became a reality after musicians Matt Hanson (frontman) and Danny Pash (drummer) left another band called Paradas due to creative differences. This break-up eventually led them to form Echo Beach alongside bassist Eryk Zimmer and keyboardist Ryan Bond, completing the current lineup of this musical group.
Drawing influence from artists like Last Shadow Puppets, Miles Kane, and Johnny Marr, Echo Beach’s sound is a cocktail of diverse styles.
Such blending of sounds is present in their debut EP, Everybody’s Over, a work that encompasses the astonishing musicianship, dedication, and commitment that characterizes this four-piece.
Fresh from that record comes Just The Start, a melody that is the ideal way to begin this new chapter in the career of these Mancunians. In an almost poetic way, this song talks about looking forward to the future and also the possibility of meeting the right person at the right time.
This piece is an attention grabber from the get-go, successfully establishing a very sunny mood with its lively drums and a highly infectious riff tailor-made for a warm afternoon at the beach. Add to this a foot-tapping baseline, a subtle piano, Hanson’s smooth delivery, and what you get is the definitive indie banger for the summer.
“Fun, catchy, and exquisite to the ears, Just The Start is a synonym for a good time.”
