Making her debut, newcomer Dana Luna has released her first-ever song. Back & Forth is a powerfully anthemic track about a toxic relationship.
Dana Luna – Back & Forth
Hailing from Manchester, Dana Luna got exposed to music almost from the very beginning of her life. She got involved with musical theatre at the age of 3 and learned to play guitar and songwriting at 12. Subsequently, at just 16 years old, she was signed to Boss Models in Manchester, these series of events led her to win the Miss British Isles in 2021.
Her debut song, Back & Forth, has its origins from a unique set of circumstances. Dana explains in more detail:
“I’d just got out of a really toxic situation with an ex. I was sitting on a train and we were in yet another bad argument. I wrote out this really long message basically telling him to F himself and then the song ‘You & Jennifer’ by Bulow came on through my headphones. It was such a weird song to just randomly come on because it was just so unreasonably fitting and I just got this overwhelming spark of inspiration from that & how shameless & unapologetic she was with it. So anyway, I erased the message, hit block, got my notebook out & wrote the lyrics to the first verse.”
Finding the balance between Pop and Rock, this emphatic melody takes advantage of Dana’s emotional vocal work and an energetic, aggressive chorus to convey its relatable theme, evoking feelings of liberation and boldness, excelling thanks to its top-notch production.
“Brimming with assertiveness ‘Back & Forth’ is a determined and empowering ode against toxic relationships.”
This melody might be Dana’s first step, but it certainly has been a great one, with over 14,000 streams since its release, her first offering exemplifies the first glimpses of what could be a great career.
