Introducing Corinna Jane:
Franco-English but born in the North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany, Corinna Jane began composing music at just six years old. Music has always been her passion, which growing up trilingual and having a diet of MTV in childhood only promoted further. In her teen years she began to form her own brand of quirky alt singer-songwriter pop, and has since received airplay on BBC Radio 6, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and also prime-time coverage on London Live TV.
But the list of achievements doesn’t end there. Corinna has also toured the Midlands, London and the North of England with her band, and over lockdown, she saw success with her impressive covers of R.E.M and Dua Lipa tracks. Her talent is hypnotizing.
Corinna Jane – Give Me A Sign
The track isn’t your typical song of grief. It focuses on finding hope and strength in even the darkest of times. Corinna wrote the track after going through the loss of her mother. She felt that she wasn’t properly grieving. Instead of experiencing pain and tears, she was met with feelings of disconnection. In Give Me A Sign, Corinna relays the numbness and shock that she struggled to move past. The song functions as a stream of consciousness, in which the listener emphasises with these intense and conflicting emotions. Corinna hopes that track will speak to those who have been through a similar experience.
