Civilian Body, the newest project of producer Gennaro Esposito, releases his first single ‘The Reason’. The composer’s debut track is a cinematic instrumental, infused with rock and classical influence.
Civilian Body – The Reason
‘The Reason’ is rich with orchestral elements, including string arrangements that add to the climactic atmosphere. This debut single’s uniqueness stems from its fusion of genres. Italian-born, Brighton (UK) based Civilian Body’s ‘The Reason’ draws inspiration from Gennaro’s heritage, as well as both classical and rock music. Civilian Body’s combination of the two distinct genres creates a memorable, transportive and alternative blend.
From the get-go, the debut single is a solid creative feat. Civilian Body has an all-consuming sound. The track dips in and out of softer tones and heavier rock, keeping us enthralled with its dynamic structure. Civilian Body breaks the track down to its bare essentials, only to be overturned by a strong, orchestral crescendo. Running through the single are strong melodies and spirited rhythms, demonstrating how emotionally charged his music can be.
Beginning releasing music in the midst of the pandemic, one of Gennaro Esposito’s tracks gains recognition from (later leading to a collaboration with) Grammy Award winner Dan Konopka, from US band Ok Go. Gennaro Esposito’s energy-driven style and expansiveness cannot go unnoticed.
As Civilian Body’s first single under this project, ‘The Reason’ is a promising and highly complex instrumental. It is an enticing track, rich with tension, that demands listener attention.
“Civilian Body’s ‘The Reason’ is an unforgettable track of angst and authenticity”
