After five crushing singles, plenty of coverage, and a growing fanbase Neil Thomas, aka Caustic Waves, has released Full Circle an EP that represents the culmination of a year full of milestones and artistic growth.
Caustic Waves – Full Circle
Since the launch of his debut single, Regenerate, a year ago, many things have changed for Neil Thomas. His music has received plenty of praise from many specialized sites like New Fury Media, GigaRadar, and Right Chord Music, also he has been featured in Spaceuntravel, which is one of the most renowned YouTube channels for emerging Alternative metal and Rock artists.
The first track Knocking At My Door has the distinctive characteristic of being the only tune in this EP that was not an official single, however that doesn’t mean it is not up to par with the other tracks, on the contrary, this song reverberates with hard-hitting riffs and Neil’s characteristic vocal range.
The head banging continues with Invisible Enemy, a song inspired by the anguish of the pandemic and the wish to rise against those negative emotions, continuing with that nu metal-esque rhythm guitar conveying its powerful message magnificently.
Up next is the song that started it all in March of 2022, of course, we are referring to Regenerate, with its engaging instrumentation that reminisces quintessential acts of the genre like Incubus and Deftones.
Barriers features an adrenaline-inducing drum introduction followed by punchy riffs that sound like something that could be part of a Breaking Benjamin album, although, the euphoric and fast-driven chorus evokes a different vibe, exhibiting the versatility within this EP.
Idiocracy comes as the most lyrically upfront melody of the bunch, being a track with a meaningful political and social commentary, exalted by crushing guitars and what is an emotionally-striking vocal performance.
Closing this EP, we got Evolution, an Alternative exquisiteness that reduces the intensity slightly without losing its edge, shining due to its absorbing songwriting.
“Full Circle is proof that alternative metal is still alive and kicking.”
This EP is a nice throwback to any fan of a magnificent era in Rock’s history and a significant achievement for this project. After coming full circle with this work, we are 100% looking forward to what this musician will do next.
