Camila Knight – Satellites
Inspired by the likes of Bjork, Lorde, Aurora, and Ella Fitzgerald, Camila Knight is an artist recognized for crafting music of an eclectic nature. One of her goals is to create a safe space through her art where her listeners can find solace. This empathetic way of thinking, plus her irrefutable talent, has led her to earn over 1000 subscribers on YouTube, around 3000 followers on Instagram, and a supportive community on Twitch that has surpassed the 10,000 mark.
In 2022 Camila released her debut EP, Uplifted which drove over 150k streams on Spotify And as if this milestone wasn’t impressive enough, she shared two more singles ‘No Need To Say Goodbye’ and ‘Journey’, which both surpassed 20k streams.
Her third offering of the year, Satellites, was mixed and produced by Ian Barter, member of Universal Music Publishing Group and renowned multi-instrumentalist who has collaborated in the past with numerous artists such as Amy Winehouse, Paloma Faith, and Gabrielle Aplin, to name a few.
This new offering is one of the most inspirational tracks that Camila has made in her still-young career. Speaking in more detail about the lyrics of this melody, Camila states:
“This song is something bigger than myself. It’s a cosmic anthem of female empowerment and not letting negativity in your life.”
“Satellites is a song to scream at the top of lungs. It’s a movement. An awakening. To a realisation that you’ve got the right to choose what’s best for you, not following the accepted social standards. It’s about finding the positivity in your life and striding away from negative people and toxic relationships.”
Satellites immediately hooks you in with its infectious beat and Camila’s charming vocal work. The instrumentation comprised of bright guitar parts, energized drums, playful bass, and smooth synths conjointly crafts an incredibly catchy melody that reaches its highest point during the revitalizing chorus.
Satellites is a groovy, danceable anthem that embodies ‘girl power’.
Along with Journey and No Need To Say Goodbye, Satellites will be part of Camila’s upcoming sophomore EP, and judging by these songs, it promises to be a real feast for your ears.
