Introducing Call The Doctor a “jerky, girly post-punk” (NME) 4 piece alternative indie pop band from Bristol. The band formed over a mutual love of danceable but dirty guitar. Check out the video for their new single ‘Take It Out’ here
The group are named after Riot Grrrl scene band: Sleater-Kinney and their seminal “Call the Doctor” album. Their captivating 23 year old kiwi front woman; Patti Aberhart, moved from New Zealand in 2009 and a year later they released their debut mini-album ‘CTD’, produced by Paul Tipler (Idlewild/Elastica/Forward Russia) to widespread acclaim. The success of this debut led to an interview and airplay on 6 music’s Steve Lamacq’s “unsigned band of the week”, BBC Bristols Introducing “Record Of The Week” and daytime playlisting, as well as a coveted slot on Gill Mill’s ‘Best of Myspace’ podcast.
Fed up of seeing kids choosing pop and indie discos over live music, Call The Doctors raucous live shows are making gigs fun again. It’s easy to see why they have been compared with YYYs, The Pixies, The Kills, and PJ Harvey. The hardworking band have completed 2 UK tours, supported acts such as Band Of Skulls, Shonen Knife, MEN and are about to embark on a Spring 2011 UK & European tour in support of their “Take It Out” single release independent record label Glasstone Records.
