Dutch alternative rock-trio Black Monsoon release ‘Pantomime’ as a sneak peek of what’s to come ahead of their debut album release.
Introducing Black Monsoon
Black Monsoon are renowned for their intense underground shows across Western Europe. Back in 2019, they released singles Losing and Jabberwocky, with the band’s style being compared to that of great artists such as The Stooges, Sonic Youth and Nirvana. With these previous tracks receiving great responses from the European media, the Dutch alternative-rock trio decided it was time to release their full-length debut album.
Black Monsoon – Pantomime
Pantomime is a bold, unapologetic and fiery track, accompanied by a music video that equally matches its brilliance. The video was actually produced by Black Monsoon whilst they were in quarantine, and involves a series of vivid and experimental clips woven together to create an arresting end product. Speaking on the video, singer and guitarist Jack Kwast has said: “we wanted to deal with the new situation in a creative way, so we converted our living rooms into a film set and recorded everything ourselves.”
Black Monsoon are no strangers to the Do-It-Yourself ethic. All of the band’s artwork, promotion, bookings and management is done between the three of them, allowing them ultimate artistic freedom and independence. This free spirit can definitely be felt throughout Pantomime.
