Standing firm in her prowess as a pop-rock force, “Lions Den” is the fiery, emotionally driven final taster single ahead of Anastasia Elliot’s highly anticipated LP.
Anastasia Elliot – Lions Den
Known for richly blending the sonic and the visual, Anastasia Elliot always sees the bigger picture. Only satisfied once she has created an immersive experience for her listeners, her creative vision knows no bounds – a fact that has warmly extended to her success. Casting broad auditory strokes of symphonic pop-rock with harmonious, mind-bending visuals, each release is a testament to her inventive state of mind.
“Lions Den” speaks of the realisation that humankind does possess the strength to confront their anger, and can do so unscathed. Drawing on the artist’s harrowing experience of a plane crash in 2013 (here), anger felt a “justified response” for the solo artist. She yearned to feel the emotion’s grip, yet it eluded her. However, her wish to channel intense emotions resulted in a discovery far more forgiving: That strength and understanding offered a far superior approach to processing the trauma she endured.
Explaining her journey in understanding how emotional intelligence prospers over anger, the artist explained: “Throughout my life, I have grappled with comprehending and connecting with anger. It has always appeared to me as a superficial shield, concealing underlying issues while acting as a catalyst for profound transformation. The lyrics in the verses directly challenge our inner lion, playfully teasing and taunting its proud essence. Once you know anger and see it for what it is, you are a far more powerful beast… there is no turning back”.
Urging us to release our roar, the single calls us to confront our demons and emerge more powerful than ever before. Blending minimalistic verse structures with elevated chorus climaxes, “Lions Den” has emerged as the most benevolent, rebel siren song of 2023.
“Lions Den” understands, encourages and excels. Anastasia Elliot has presented a rare bonding experience between anger and acceptance, giving every listener the tools to grow, inspire and triumph above all else. Truly a fine moment for pop-rock”.
