Merli Armisa is back with a captivating preview of his upcoming album. The new single, Capelli Argento, marks a significant return for the Italian singer-songwriter and promises exciting things ahead.
Merli Armisa – Capelli Argento
Born in Sondrio, Italy, Merli Armisa is the stage name of musician Michele Boscacci. Growing up in a musically rich environment, with a father who was a talented musician and a member of the band Asma, it was clear from an early age that music would play a central role in Michele’s life. His brother, Carlo, also followed a musical path, later becoming the frontman of Ricche le Mura and the solo artist behind Bosco da Soma.
Self-taught and driven by a desire to develop his unique sound, Merli Armisa began his musical journey in his teenage years. He started writing songs in both English and Italian, aiming to stand out from mainstream music. His live performance experience grew as he played in various cover bands with friends. Influenced by a wide range of artists, his main inspirations include Ben Howard, King Krule, Alex G, Mount Kimbie, and Mac DeMarco.
Capelli Argento, the first single since his 2022 release Alme, showcases Merli Armisa’s artistic growth and creative evolution. The track exemplifies his distinct style, blending intricate production with his signature eccentricity.
Calling Capelli Argento merely eclectic would fall short of capturing its true essence. This track stands out for its structural complexity, with layers upon layers of sound that create a deeply engaging atmosphere. The song opens with a captivating synthesizer arpeggio, drawing listeners in. Rather than sticking to a typical electronic arrangement, it builds in intensity, adding more layers to its already detailed production. What follows is a mesmerizing blend of nostalgic chaos that gradually fades, only to return to a soothing atmosphere led by Merli Armisa’s high-pitched Italian vocals.
Capelli Argento showcases exceptional production prowess, intricately crafted and captivating in its execution, with enough depth to maintain the listener’s interest throughout.
Despite a hiatus due to a motorcycle accident, Merli Armisa is clearly back with a vengeance. Capelli Argento is only the first step in this new chapter, as he prepares to release his second album later this year. This upcoming album, influenced by Asian shoegaze and the ambient music scene, promises to be an exciting continuation of his artistic evolution. Fans won’t want to miss what’s next.
