Cruz – Take Off The Pressure
Cruz is a quartet hailing from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and consists of Sam Thatcher (lead singer/rhythm guitar), Tom Cox (lead guitar), Ethan Mockfor (drums), and Jamie Scholes (bass).
After releasing their debut single, Life of Misery, in June 2022, this collective has enjoyed praise from fans and specialized media, thanks to their singular take on indie rock and their engaging live performances at the iconic Sheffield Leadmill and the YNOT? Festival
Fast-forward to September 1st, 2023, when they released their brand new offering, Take Off The Pressure, a song filled with everything that makes indie rock so appealing, sparkled with this band’s idiosyncratic spin.
Talking about the track the band explains… “It’s about helping people who seem like they are struggling whether that be physically or mentally.”
With a slight influence from classic Arctic Monkeys, TOTP combines explosive riffs and frantic drums, making it impossible not to nod effusively. Add to this some gritty vocals courtesy of Sam Thatcher, and the result is the ultimate stress killer.
