Currently based in France, Ghanaian Hip-hop artist TightFist has revealed a 7-track LP called The Plug Project, which showcases his best work and collaborations released last year.
TightFist – The Plug Project
TightFist’s story goes back to when he was 14 years old, a period of his life in which he started improving and freestyling just for fun in his native Ghana, always surrounded and influenced by genres such as Afrobeat, Dancehall, and of course, Hip-Hop. At fifteen, he moved to France, a change that further expanded his musical taste.
Over the last couple of years, TightFist has kept himself busy by releasing a generous amount of singles, as well as his 2021 LP, The Art of Variation, and his latest offering, The Plug Project.
The Plug Intro opens this work with a phenomenal production comprised of a dreamy track and guitar lines, which support TightFist’s energetic delivery.
Slip n Slide shares some of the traits mentioned in the previous track while adding beautiful female back vocals in a much more soothing jam featuring the artist known as Negrito, complementing this record with some solid verses in French.
Droptop intertwines its atmospheric instrumental and Tightfist’s killer flow, going back and forth between the melancholic chorus and the hard-hitting rhymes.
Vvs and Language bring back the mixture of English and French hot bars, embellished by trippy vocal effects in an aural conglomerate of mesmerizing sounds.
The album reaches a high point on Hustle, showcasing some of the most assertive and motivational lyrics on this LP.
Finally, Dinero (money in Spanish) displays the innate creativity prevailing throughout this album, with this track having some of its verses in Spanish, including the infectious chorus, in collaboration with the artist Aido.
Straight to the point, The Plug Project delivers on all fronts for an unforgettable Hip-Hop experience.
This work provides a new stage for TightFist, taking what he demonstrated previously and expanding on it with a more polished production and engaging wordplay. Truly an album to be proud of on a professional level.
