Juvenile Child are a five-piece alternative rock band hailing from Manchester. Their incisive, angst-filled heavy sound traverses the realms of hip-hop, punk and indie to deliver electrifying streams of sonic force.
Juvenile Child – Scream
After a short hiatus, the band has now reformed and is gearing up towards the release of their debut album, unleashing the lead single ‘Scream’ and its vicious assault.
The song starts off with a fittingly raging scream and an enormous fuzzy guitar riff, with the tight drumming and muscular bass providing the grip. Then, the intensity is reduced for the indie-like, somewhat reflexive verses, before returning in full glory for the hard-hitting chorus. Eventually, and after a dynamic, gripping bridge, the song is driven home by a ferocious, anthemic finale.
“Scream is a powerful alt-rock anthem, filled with energy and aggression.”
With the highly-relatable lyrics focusing on the fast-paced context of modern-day life and the toll it takes on mental health, the song’s intense delivery serves as a manifesto of non-conformity with this unnerving scenario and sets the tone for the band’s sound in the coming years.
Juvenile Child impresses with ‘Scream’ and also attracts attention to their next singles which should also be released soon. All of this, of course, will culminate in their debut album, set to be released next year and which will feature Peter Keys, none other than the keyboardist for the immortal American rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Stay tuned and expect some more great music from this resourceful, promising outfit.
